Hi Dave. That crash sounds very scary. Hopefully it doesn't do that to you 
again. I haven't upgraded to Monterey but I would think Voiceover would start 
talking at startup like it always has. As for me, I'm still on Big Sur 11.2.3 
as I like the way the Siri female voice sounds. In future versions of macOS, 
they've made her sound like she does on the iPhone starting with iOS 12. 
However, you people with M1 Macs are lucky as you can use the neural TTS 
versions of the Siri voices with Voiceover which make them sound more natural. 
So I'll be staying on 11.2.3 until Apple forces me to upgrade.
