Thanks much, Tim.

I restarted computer and I heard nothing. I turned off and back on VoiceOver
with Command-touchID and everything seems to be ok now.

Thanks much for all of your help again.

Hi,

If you have a laptop, simply press down on the trackpad. You’ll feel a click.
Similarly, if you have a mouse, press down on the left top side of it and
you’ll feel a click. The click is pretty well the same as a VO-shift-space
that we use in VO, but not exactly the same.

Hi,

WEll, we’ve made progress. You now have speech. If VO is announcing that
there’s nothing in the VoiceOver cursor, try clicking your mouse or trackpad.
If still nothing, try VO-f1-f1 to open the Application Chooser and see what
options are there for you. If still nothing, restart your Mac to see if it now
has a proper voice and restarts to a usable place.

I tried VO-Command-Shift-Down arrow and I was able to land where you have
several options to choose the VoiceOver parameters from. Here I heard Alex
voice. I went ahead and selected Sammantha, the voice of my choice but she is
not speaking anything other than the following:

“Nothing in the VoiceOver Cursor.”

What is the next, please?

Thanks!

Hi,

I think that Herbie is on the right track. If you have been using a different
voice other than Alex, I’ve seen where updates somehow lose the voice you used
to have as default. Try using the rotor to pick a different voice. Press
VO-cmd-shift-down a time or two to see if you hear any speech start.
Hopefully, if the rotor has not been twisted to a different control, you should
initially be on the Voice choosing option. If nothing happens, you might be on
one of the other options. In that case, press VO-cmd-shift-right, then keeping
those keys down press the down arrow a time or two. If you still don’t get a
voice, then undo what you just did by pressing VO-cmd-shift-up arrow a time or
two and continue VO-cmd-shift-right then try again the VO-cmd-shift-down arrow
repeating the pattern to hopefully find the setting to pick a working voice.

HTH.

Hi, Group.

Last Night, I upgraded my Macbook-Pro-2017, left computer on and went to bed.
This morning, Voiceover does not speak. Siri is turning VO on/off as I am
asking her but VoiceOver is not speaking.

Any suggestions, please?

Thanks!
