Hi,

The easiest, in my opinion, is to first have Direct Touch in your rotor.  So, 
if you have Direct Touch in the rotor, when you’re in the offending app, open 
the App Switcher, swipe to bring focus to that app, twist the rotor to Direct 
Touch, then swipe up or down to land on on “Off”.
