In addition to creating a shell script textt file, it must be given permissions to operate using this command:
chmod 7777 file-name The numbrs allow all permmission functions to be linked to the file, it can use other numbers to limit which functions and to whom permission is given to use/modify it. Also, an ".sh" extension is not required, in fact no extension is required. But the ".sh" is the common one used to identify it as a shell script file. .
