Another shot in the dark here, but if this is a separate drive, try doing a 
first aid on it via Disk Utility. Maybe, there is something corrupted with a 
file or such. I vaguely recall I had to do this with my Time Capsule in the 
past in which I directly connected it to my Mac to do a disk repair many moons 
ago.
