I don’t have Mojave on any of my Macs, but I feel pretty sure the Side Preview was in there. Go into the Mail app’s MenuBar > View menu, and look at the options again. It may be labeled differently, but I feel sure it is in there.

If you don’t want a Side Preview, then make sure this item is unchecked. You can then navigate to the horizontal splitter that divides the Mail items list from the preview pane, interact with the splitter, and adjust the splitter to 100%, which will totally collapse the preview pane. I have the vertical divider already and there is a few area that I never use. When you interact with a splitter, you can adjust the position of the splitter, and the size of certain panes in the application window. What you did was discover the splitter that separates the Mailbox list from the Mailbox items list. In the future, you can quickly show or hide the Mailbox list using the keyboard command, CMD + Shift + M. Another splitter you may want to adjust, is the horizontal splitter you find when you VO + RightArrow, when in the Mailbox items list. This splitter adjust the size of the Mailbox items list, and the Mail preview area that may be located below the Mailbox items list. If you are using Side Preview mode, than you will find a vertical splitter when you VO + RightArrow from the Mailbox items list, which can be adjusted in the same manner. In the Mail app on my Mac, I have turned off Side Preview mode, and have adjusted the horizontal splitter below the Mailbox items list to 100%, which collapses the Mail preview pane completely, because I prefer to view mail messages in their own window by pressing enter on a mail item in the Mailbox items list. This morning I sat on my computer and was planning to open up my iPhone with your instructions Jonathan to start fixing or investigating how to view my junk folder. Just before starting I decided to check for new email first get rid of messages I don’t want, etc. As I was pressing VO and the arrow keys to jump between favourites bar, messages table, scroll area etc. I noticed voiceover saying to me vertical splitter, voiceover continue to tell me to interact with this splitter, I wondered for a second what this could be. I interacted with it and I heard such things as 10% 15% etc. Again I thought for a second what does this do I stopped interacting. the little that I changed the vertical splitter now gives me all my mailboxes. Everything is in view just As I wanted. All of this was fixed. the junk folder is viewable along with other mail folders just by adjusting the vertical splitter. Who would have thought the answer was so easy. Sometimes you have to try things and sometimes in my case you fix things by accident. This is good to know for other people who are having problems and want to be able to have access and view their junk folder. I hope this makes sense and that I didn’t confuse you very much.
