Hi all, is it possible to have time machine only back up iTunes?

I have been reading on various ways to move iTunes library from Sierra to
Catalina. One person went through a complicated process of saving the library
on an external hard drive, creating a second account on their old machine,
putting the library in place for that account, then creating a time machine
back up. All this sounds like such a rigmarole, and I’m not sure my old machine
has the space for this.

So, I was wondering if I could create a time machine back up of my library,
then move it over via time machine onto the new Mac.

I can’t figure out any other ways. I would like to keep the dates songs were
added, playlists, etc. I know there is migration assistant, but I don’t know
how to have it only migrate iTunes.

Thanks,
Traci
