HTML can also be edited directly in textedit without going through changing the 
file name. I believe you have to go into the settings and tell it to treat html 
as plain text otherwise, it will open a rich text editor, which might work 
depending on your needs.
I have also played around with the Visual Studio Code from Microsoft. This is a 
version of Visual Studio that runs within a web browser like interface. There 
are quite a few customizations available for it too, though I don’t know if 
there are any to improve its usefulness when blind.
