On my Mac, I have four finger flick right / left switch between full screen applications. This is a standard command for touchpad that can be enabled in system preferences touchpad. Doing this also means that the three finger swipe left/right can be used by VoiceOver to move pages left/right, though this is not as needed as it is on the small IOS screen. You can put an application into full screen ode with control-command-F. Best wishes,
