I just downloaded Firefox 77 and Firefox 79 nightly on my system, and they have indeed made significant strides in interacting with VoiceOver. I only had a chance to review two or three sites. Sometimes, voiceOver would say unknown button, but if I moved forward and back it could then read the label for the button. I did not look at any advanced sites that use lots of JavaScript and have to manage focus, but first impressions were that this is something worth looking into.
