Weird, I can barely hear mine, although to be fair it is elevated on my desk and behind an iMac. I have set the PC speaker to its loudest volume by raising it as far as it will go with nothing connected to the headphone socket and in Sound preferences. But it’s really not all that loud, at least for me, and my 2012 Mac Mini (now silent and running Linux) was certainly distinct enough to be heard, although with some effort. Both my Minis are servers so it’s not a big deal, but it’s certainly nice to have them chime at boot.
