Hi,

Use cmd-right to fast forward and cmd-left to rewind. The space bar will
play/pause. If in fast forward or rewind mode, a second press of the keyboard
command increases the speed. For example, the first press of cmd-right will
fast forward at 2X speed. Pressing it a second time increases to 5X speed,
then 10X, I believe that it is 30X. The press after 30X brings it back to 1X
speed, but you’ll need to press the space bar to restart playback. I suggest
that you leave focus on the play/pause button so you can ensure that the space
bar action is pressing the play/pause button when you press.

Later…

I have sound files from which I transcribe conversations. this requires moving
back and forth a lot especially with the old files that were recorded decades

this purpose. I thought I might try quicktime player. how do I move it
backwards and forwards on my Mac with a keyboard?

thanks.
