Thanks Simon, appreciate that keyboard command.

That said I agree with Kawal,  there should be a way to adjust the volume 
separately and/or simply mute/close the chat.  In a very large group, 
especially when the host is asking for feedback the effect is, ... 
indescribable!  

Not all I'd hoped for but I do look forward to hitting mute next time.
