I am not sure it is 100% in the past. Things I know they have done: 1. You can configure zoom to default to camera and mic being off. 2. They played around with the one click options so it is possible that an URL can't directly launch a Zoom meeting. The security issue was that Zoom created a http server on a separate TCP port on your computer and if one communicated with that port one could open a zoom meeting without first confirming with the computer owner that you wanted to start a meeting. So by having microphone and camera initially off when Zoom starts, even if somebody starts Zoom without a panel, they won't be able to spy on you. Best wishes,
