Jaws activation will break if there is *any* change in the virtual hardware. 
You must set your vm the way yu want it, activate Jaws, and leave it that way.

This means that you should never change:

how many CPUs are used
how much memory is allocated
the size of the hard drive
the video acceleration
the network card configuration (network mode or interface count)

and probably others that I've forgotten.

You can attach/detach bluetooth and USB devices just fine, but that is just 
about it.
