Hello,
Okay this is getting wierd. I did the clean install and now I have three
volumes labled macintosh hd data plus the system volume. Does anyone
know if I can just delete the two extra volumes? If not what else can I
try?
Thanks,

Hi,
Do the following:
1. Restart your Mac.
2. Hold down the cmd and r keys to make sure it starts in Recovery Mode.
3. At the MacOS Utilities window, select Disk Utility then press
Continue.
4. In Disk Utility, in the Disk Selection table, select the first
Macintosh HD item.
5. Stop interacting with the table and interact with the ToolBar.
6. Press the Erase button in the ToolBar.
7. Leave everything alone in this dialog and simply press the Erase
button, the last button in the dialog.
8. Wait a bit and when the "Done" button is active, press it.
This will take you back to the MacOS Utilities window.
9. In the table, select Re-Install Mac OS then press Continue.
10 Follow the prompts, agreeing to all things that require agreement.
11. Select Macintosh HD as your destination then press Continue.
It will download the latest version of Catalina from Apple and go
through the installation process for you. After it restarts itself,
follow the prompts to set it up as your own once again.
Later...

Hello,
I discovered that for some reason in my last clean install I ended up
with two macOS data volumes instead of just one. I think this is what
is causing some of my weird issues. So I am going to do another clean
install this weekend. Hopefully this time I will get it right. I
wonder if I should erase everything including the macOS system volume?
This way there is nothing on the computers hard drive at all.
Thanks,
Greg Wocher
