Hi, Laser printers tend to last almost forever with low use. The toner is a powder, not a liquid like ink jet printers. I have a Lexmark CS410 series laser printer and I'm still on the original toner from about three years ago. I use it on my home network both on my various Macs and through AirPrint for iPad and iPhone. HP are also great printers and you would have good luck with it.
