Hi, Well, When dealing with the loops that are are made for Garageband "apple loops", they come in different lengths depending on the loop. some of them are 1bar, 2 bar, and 4 bar loops. You are correct that it is invisible to Voiceover so deleting portions of the loop to make them shorter is not possible to my knowledge. But you can copy and paste the loop to whatever segment of your project you want. I use my number pad to drag and drop loops into my timeline. Then I press command C to copy the loop. Now, you can paste the loop at any point you wish in your project. I have Garageband set to play the metronome during playback as well as recording.
