Hello All, I am going to chime in on this one so that we do not have any miss-information being batted around.
Assuming that one has 2-factor authentication enabled, there are actually three ways to allow MS Outlook for Windows to access one's iCloud email account. As I do not wish to write a novel I'll be brief; for more info, you can search the web. 1. Install the iCloud Control Panel for Windows. This is probably the most popular method as, by doing so, not only will you get access to your iCloud email account via Outlook, the control panel will give you access to other iCloud features such as Calendar and web history. It is important to note, however, that if one manually updates his Reminders app to the latest version, the iCloud control panel for Windows will no longer have access to reminders. One must manually update the iCloud Reminders in order to lose Windows access. 2. If one does not wish to install the iCloud Control Panel, for Windows, but still wishes to use MS Outlook for Windows strictly as an iCloud mail client, then one can generate an app-specific password. To do this, using a web browser, log into your Apple account and go to the security section. 3. Finally, there is a third option but, as it is for more advanced Windows users, and as this is not a Windows forum, and as it would require a great many more words to describe, I'll leve it up to you to discover it via Google. For the record, I use all three methods. The primary point is that one has options when it comes to accessing iCloud via Windows 7 or Windows 10. Kawal, That will not do it. In order to use a third party email client set up with an iCloud email address, you need to go to Apple ID site and under security, generate an app specific password. Then use that password when running Outlook. This is part of Apple's 2 Factor Authentication. From E.T.'s Keyboard... ancient.ali...@icloud.com Many believe that we have been visited in the past.
