Hi, No, I haven’t heard of anything new regarding that. I highly doubt that there actually would be anything anyway, with security enhancements in macOS Catalina. My suggestion would be to connect either an old USB mouse or a Bluetooth mouse and then setting it so that your trackpad is disabled when a Bluetooth or external mouse is connected. This would stop you from having to be uncomfortable while typing.
