Hi, Well, though this topic has died down, and been nonexistent for weeks now, I thought I'd bring it up again.
This didn't even cross my mind at all. I got to thinking it last night, and decided to test my theory. I tried the following: 1. I went to one of the files having this problem. I had renamed it, so I changed it back. 2. When I renamed it, I forgot all about ASCII characters in that file. While the folder it had unzipped to had converted properly where the characters were concerned, the filename itself did not. 3. I renamed it again, putting "'" which is the ASCII for the apostrophe in the original name. Bam. That did the trick. Now, my question is this. Does anyone know of a way to make Mac OS X show these characters properly? I hate seeing ' every time I see an apostrophe on these files, but if you get rid of the ASCII and replace it, it disables iTunes ability to change its settings. Thanks in advance. I've been looking everywhere, but no luck. To fill everyone in not wanting to read this thread from top to bottom, the problem is basically that I am unable to change settings such as "Remember playback position" in iTunes after unzipping the file, nor am I able to remove it from my library. I found the solution, but I'd like to be able to display the ASCII characters properly. I have also seen this issue on several websites, including edit fields.
