Sorry for a correction: the web site for movie information is:
http://metajam.mobi/
(no "www" at the front). Because I was composing for the viphone list, I originally gave the address the way I would type it in Safari: metajam.mobi/

When I typed in the full link I added "www" by mistake out of habit. This is basically an easy to use version of the information in the Internet Movie Database. I think it is also supposed to work better as a web site for Low Vision users.

Cheers,

Esther

Hi Chris,

What I would like is an app that coordinates something like "Rotten Tomatoes" for the iPhone. An application that lets one look up a movie or actor or other movie related information and get a fairly comprehensive article about the search criteria. This may or may not exist already but I'm not sure what terms to use to search for it.

and I replied:

Hi Chris,

There are apps that have the kind of movie information that you want, like the imdb app and Leonard Maltin Movie Guide app, but they're not accessible. The easiest thing might be to bookmark the Metajam mobile site in your Safari bookmarks:
metajam.mobi/

Just a followup to say that although the "movies by year" listing page at the <http://www.metjam.mobi/> site for accessing movie information from the internet movie database hasn't been updated with a link for 2009, it still grabs the information about recent movies. I'm cc' ing this information to some other lists, since there may be general interest in using the metajam.mobi web site. For iPhone use, you could try contacting the imdb people about extending accessibility of their app. It's supposed to show you a list view of entries, but the pages just boink the way the New York Times app did in its inaccessible version. (In earlier and later versions of the NY Times app, all the lists read off fine.) So maybe this would not be a difficult fix to make.

Cheers,

Esther
