Hi Donna,
I’m in the same position that you are. I have an iPhone 7 Plus which is acting 
as an iPod, since I now have a 10 R. I won’t be upgrading next year. But the 
following year I suppose, if I do upgrade, myXr will become my new iPod. I 
really think they missed the boat here.
