Linda:
I'm forwarding to the list an instruction I got from an Apple rep for fixing
voiceover when I messed up my speech. I hope it will be useful in your
situation.

Subject: VoiceOver

Carolyn,

These files pertain to VoiceOver as an application. Should this issue occur
again by removing these files from your home folder/library/preferences it
should reset the VoiceOver to start fresh again. To get to this folder open
Finder from the dock which will open your home folder. Then open Library and
Preferences. These items will be near the bottom of the list.

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.universalaccess.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.VoiceOver.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.VoiceOver.pronunciations.plist

Hope this helps in the future!
