Ok, I seem to be running into this more and more on various websites of late: edit boxes that won’t accept input and won’t provide feedback to the screen reader. The latest, interestingly enough, is on google.com and their account verification dialog. I had to recover an email account today, but was unable to complete the process because the edit box to input the verification code would not accept any input. In fact, It failed to do so on 3 separate browsers (Firefox, safari and chrome). I even disabled the screen reader and sought help from one of the room mates. He tried to input the code in the assigned edit box and it still wouldn’t accept input.
Anyone have any clues how to get around this? Also, I dropped an email into the google accessibility group with complete details of the problem. Unknown if any of the google devs even read it and there appears to be no real way to contact google otherwise. Some suggestions on that also welcome. thanks.
