Hi, Yes, it works fine. The initial login screen as audio, but not really VO per se. You would still turn on VO the same, but a voice will simply announce "username", at which time you should enter the username followed by the return key, the voice will then announce "password" at which time you obviously enter your password followed by the return key. Your Mac will then be silent for a while as it loads things up and decrypts things ending up at the Desktop of the logged in user. If you enter incorrect username or password at either prompt, you will be again prompted with the appropriate request for a username or password.
