Hi Terry,

Yes that is correct unless you use a tool that allows for writing to the NTFS
format.

Although I'm questioning it now as I have a funny feeling that with Mojave this
might not be an issue any longer.

Subject: Questions regarding hard drives

Hello everyone,

I've asked this before. So I do apologize for needing to ask again. But
unfortunately I get confused about this, and can't seem to keep it straight in
my head.

Now I have 2 external hard drives. They are currently connected to my windows
laptop. I know for sure that the main 1 I use, is using the file type, NTFS. So
I am pretty sure the other 1 is as well.

Am I to understand correctly, that if I connect these drives to my Mac laptop,
that I can read the contents of the drives, but that I can't write to them?

Or is this the other way around?

Or wrong altogether?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri
