Hello,
Yes the volume is up and again If I play Music or other audio as well as any sounds a screen readers make I hear that already. Also, if I switch to a USB sound card, the screen reader audio kicks in just fine. I guess for now I'll stay with VirtualBox and just avoid updating Windows or reapply an older snapshot as needed. This one is a bit perplexing to me. Kelly On 12/1/18, 3:08 AM, "Simon Fogarty" <macvisionaries@googlegroups.com on behalf of si...@blinky-net.com> wrote: What about the volume? So far I've not found any errors in logs. I use virtual machines from both VMWare and VirtualBox daily on Windows but wanted to add a Mac to my environment for some work I'm doing and hopefully still have access to Windows on that machine. If nothing else, I'll just stick to the USB sound card option. That does work well. They should be, but under the VM, it's still worth verifying just to be sure. Do any relevant error messages appear in the Windows event logs? I haven't tried a VM on the Mac, so I can't offer advice from experience. -----Original Message----- From: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com <macvisionaries@googlegroups.com> On Behalf Of Kelly Ford Sent: Friday, November 30, 2018 9:38 AM To: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: VMWare Fusion Question or Two Hi, I have checked this and to be clear, computer sounds, music and such plays just fine without the USB sound card. -----Original Message----- From: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com <macvisionaries@googlegroups.com> On Behalf Of Simon Fogarty Sent: Friday, November 30, 2018 1:38 AM To: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: VMWare Fusion Question or Two O it isn't needed Have you checked your vm settings or config to make sure you have an audio device installed to your vm for audio to be heard. -----Original Message----- From: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com <macvisionaries@googlegroups.com> On Behalf Of kelly ford Sent: Friday, 30 November 2018 2:32 PM To: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: VMWare Fusion Question or Two Hi, I'm not sure if this is always required but by using a USB audio device, I was able to get screen reader audio to work on the VMs. This doesn't seem like I should have to do this but so far at least the VMs are now usable. I am curious if anyone else is experiencing this. I used an ISO from Windows 10 version 1809 to create my virtual machine. Sound for the VM in general is working. However, Narrator text to speech does not seem to work correctly. I can play music or other audio from the VM and it plays fine. In addition, when Narrator is running, I hear the sounds Narrator makes just not the speech. I haven't tried other TTS, such as Eloquence with JAWS yet and am also following up with Narrator contacts. This solution fixed at least getting the program launched. I had to going to privacy and then accessibility and indicate that I wanted to allow VMware to control my computer. Then when I launched VMware fusion, I had to go allow the extension. I am creating my first virtual machine so we'll see how that goes. Again thank you to everyone who replied here. Are you running OS X Mojave? Just salute you know if you are running the current version of VMware, you have to go into system preferences and make sure that in the privacy and/or security settings that VMware is permitted to access those resources a.k.a. the extension for VMware needs to be allowed to run. If the item is not chocked your Mac forbids the program to be run because did use it as a potential security risk when it is not. Give that a shot? And I think your problem will hopefully go away.
