If you can get sighted assistance and you know there were problems with your disk before the format, I would get Disk Warrior and have it run a complete scan, it does or at least used to do quite a bit more checking than the First Aid application that Apple provides, however especially if it is doing a repair on the boot drive, than it is running its own copy of the operating system that has no screen reader associated with it. If the data on the disk is critical, I would suggest either setting up a raid or spending the extra time / money of verifying that the disk truly is full operational. I believe Apple Stores can also run an internal diagnostic that is more complete than FirstAid / check disk.
