Can you get in to the device manager and have a look at the sound / audio devices and see if any have ! or ? against them?
Then try deleting them and restart the vm to see if you can get a windows default audio device to install. Also if you have a USB audio device such as speakers or usb headphone adapter, Plug that in and ensure that the USB device is seen in the vm tools as being seen by the actual vm. Then start up jaws or narrator and see what happens. -----Original Message----- From: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com <macvisionaries@googlegroups.com> On Behalf Of Pete De Vasto Sent: Saturday, 15 September 2018 2:57 AM To: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Audacity Tutorials Hi Simon, Thanks for your reply. To answer your questions: Yes, I do have an audio device installed on the VM machine. It’s HDAudio. The problem is that when I go to Sound Settings in Windows, the only input device I see is a Microphone, no line-in jack. So Narrator, even JAWS for that matter, does come up just fine. When I’m in the Windows VM, it’s a bit tricky if I want to toggle between Windows and Mac OS, but I’m getting the hang of it and I’m sure it’ll get even easier the more I use it. Windows in the Bootcamp environment works fine, and there I even do see the line-in jack. The interesting thing about the Bootcamp environment is that I have three different output choices, one for speakers, one for headphones, and one for digital audio. In the stand-alone VM, I only have speakers. What’s also puzzling to me is that if I create a VM by importing my Bootcamp partition, it says that everything is copied over, but that doesn’t seem to be the case if I don’t have all the device choices. I would stay with running in the Bootcamp environment, but it’s a pain to have to reboot out of Bootcamp any time I want to go back to Mac OS. I hope this all makes sense.
