Hi Andrew Do you have a copy of Fine Reader Pro or something similar? If not do you have a copy of PDFScan Plus. It is an iOS app developed by Smile, the makers of Text Expander and PDFPen. PDFScan+ should do what you want but you might not necessarily know to which sections of your easy the comments refer. Can your tutor not send you the original file?
