Hi,

No.  I believe that's the best that can be done.  You can turn the Trackpad 
commander on or off, but that still keeps the Trackpad enabled.  The setting 
you've mentioned is the best you can do from a GUI prospective.  Plug in a USB 
mouse or connect a Bluetooth one and when this is checked, your Trackpad will 
be disabled.
