That could be. I had the same results and did not have any tones not
already in the Tones folder.

Hi,
It seems that there's a bug in iTunes. Even though the Tones reside on
your iPhone, they're not showing up. You can copy new ones over, and
the Tones table will populate with the new ones, but I don't think that
they really transfer properly. When I did a copy of tones over to the
iPhone, they just said "Copying" forever. That may be because the tones
already exist, but I'm not sure yet. In any case, things aren't working
totally as they should.

Hi,
You need to check the box to manually manage videos that is located in
the Summary pane when the iPhone is connected to the Mac. Once that
checkbox is checked and that settings has been applied, then you can
delete custom ring-tones.

While looking at this, I find I cannot delete custom ringtones that
are on my iPhone due to running iTunes 12.7. With the device
connected, and browsing to the Tones item under Devices in the
sidebar, there are no tones to be seen. How to delete them?

It is for Yosemite, but I don't believe that things have changed much
in that respect in High Sierra.

I wish to assign the same custom ringtones to my Mac contacts the
same as on my iPhone contacts. When I view the list of ringtones in
the Mac contacts I do not see the custom ringtones. They still exist
in the Tones folder in the iTunes library. How do I add them so they
show up in the Mac contacts? Thanks.
