My apologies for references to the Windows side below, but in order to understand MS Office features it is sometimes necessary to compare to their native environment. I switched over from Apple Mail to Outlook mostly because my corporate e-mail stopped working correctly when it was migrated to cloud based usage. Once I assigned goto linked item VoiceOver action to a keystroke I got fairly efficient. When focus is on the body of a message you have to either hit gotoLinkedItem which will be the delete button or else click command-delete to delete the current message. Threaded view in the message list is very confusing the selected item is not what one would expect, it seems to go to the oldest unread item weather coming from the bottom or the top. That said, the info panel works fairly well, I can always find attachments with ease and working with the message preview works better than on a Windows computer.
I have either not found or else it is not available to have Outlook keep the message window open and move to either the previous item or next item which is something I do like in the Windows version even though right now neither JAWS or NVDA seem to want to read the new title bar when the message switches. One other slight annoyance is that the message list reads every column much like WindowEyes and NVDA do on the Windows side. One great feature of the new 365 products is that most of them have a accessibility checker in the proofing area of the ribbon, and yes Microsoft Office for Macintosh has both Ribbon and menus and some things are only reachable by one of the two methods.
