There are a number of devices and some tv's which allow streaming netflicks and hulu and amazon video content and some other sources. These have tv shows and movies. They all have speech.
These streaming services are done on demand for around $10 per month each so recording them is not required. They can be paused and backup etc. for ease of viewing. A small very inexpensive internal antenna with newer tv's will allow picking up local over the air digital stations.
