I had the same problem and only solved it by using the mobile site.
Amazon.com/access. Or in my case smile.amazon.com/access

I apologize if someone has brought this up already, but every single time I try
shopping on Amazon lately, a web dialog keeps coming up; there’s a close
button, but it doesn’t help. It is a nonstop occurrence, preventing me from
