A .brf/.brl file is merely a text file. Consequently, you can use any word processing application to view it. On Windows, I generally use Notepad or Wordpad. On the Mac, I recommend that you use Text Edit. So, instead of clicking on the .brf file from within Finder, first, open Text Edit and from within it, find the .BRF file that you wish to read with your Braille display. Good luck.
