Just want to confirm from other users whether they are seeing this strange behaviour: in Messages app on the mac and on the iPhone, previously conversations were threaded by the name of the sender obtained from contacts. After I’ve updated to High Sierra and to iOS 11, conversations are not always threaded at all and the sender name is missing, replaced by their phone number. This is a bit of a nuisance. I’ve searched for a setting to adjust but I can’t find it. Might it be a bug? The strange thing is that if I compose a message first and choose a particular contact from Contacts, then the message appears with the name of the person I have sent to but if they reply to my message, their reply is not a part of the thread but appears separately and it is their telephone number that appears in the list of messages so you can’t tell who the message is from unless you read it.
I’m also having trouble deleting messages. When I choose to delete a message via the action menu, Messages app still reports this message. Nor does the status of the message changes when I’ve read it. Is this something you are noticing as well? Andrew -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
