Hi,

That's odd. My directions are being spoken just fine. The "Proceed to Route"
problem only happened once for me when we lost cell signal for a few
kilometres. What voice are you using?

Hi Mark,

It just doesn't work. I realize that that is vague, but it's the best way to
describe it. The spoken directions are nonexistent. For example, it will
speak the name of a road, but that's all. No Turn right, left etc. Switching
back and forth between overview and turn by turn doesn't help. Sometimes it
will speak a distance , like "in a quarter mile." But that's it. No clue
what's supposed to happen in a quarter of a mile. It constantly repeats the
phrase "Proceed to the route." Sometimes we're on the route when it says that,
sometimes we're not, so hearing that spoken over and over again is just
confusing. When I can figure out what the directions are, it seems to choose
very odd and indirect roots. Obviously I don't know what the picture shows,
but the spoken info, both that which I can get from VO and that which is spoken
by Maps, is just insufficient and incoherent. There's all kind of crap on the
bottom of the screen, like "restaurants" "gas stations" etc. IMHO, they need
to get rid of that clutter, and use the screen real-estate so MAPs can do its
primary job. In the last few days, when we've tried to use Maps neither my
sighted husband nor I could make heads or tails out of it, so we ended up
closing Maps and he used our old Garmin. Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

I should say that it's gotten really bad in the last few days. Prior to that,
I experienced the bug you described, but it was otherwise usable. It's
definitely gotten worse recently.
Cheers,
Donna
