This is a matter of experimentation. I use my right index finger. However, because of the angle of my hand, I have discovered the necessity of moving my finger somewhat downward in my right flick. This means, my hand is actually rotated further to the right than I perceive because the right flick needs to be less than 45 degrees or it is interpreted as a vertical flick. So, I perform a what I perceive as a down-angle flick, which is actually a right flick.
