I'm not even sure if Super Duper is being updated anymore, but I would
say Carbon Copy Cloner is a better program, version 5 has just been
released, and there is even a section in the documentation for using
the program with voice over. I now have a bootable SD card with the
full install and another card with the High Sierra recovery, they are
similar but the recovery is smaller and downloads what it needs during
the install. On the other hand, making a full install does not need to
download anything extra but each time an update is released such as
10.13.1, 10.13.2, etc. you will need to download the install from the
app store and recreate the bootable install if you want to install an
updated operating system straight away. With the bootable recovery,
there is usually only one for each major operating system release and
it will automatically download the newest operating system when it is used.
Original message:
That makes sense. I have super duper will have to give cc a look.
Thanks again. Was just wondering about it since it was something that
had been used before.

The recovery disk assistant provided by Apple does not work in Sierra,
so I'm assuming it doesn't work in high Sierra either. If you Carbon
Copy Cloner, it does offer the option to install a recovery on to your
backup drive.

Mike. Thanks for the article. I have bookmarked the URL so I can
refer to it as I am ho[ping to do the upgrade this weekend. BTW, Is it
no longer possible to copy the recovery from the internal partition as
it was in el caption? Just wondered as I heard a demo of your upgrade
from 10.10 to 10.11 on blindgeekzone I think it was.
Thanks again.

Here are the instructions I used to make a bootable install, I used an
8 GB SD card, but a flash drive would work just as well. The
application that is used is totally accessible with voiceover.
