Hi list Michelle stevens here,
Our trainer Is working with a client teaching him Mac basics and the braille display. Can anyone suggest how we can fix some of the issues listed below. Remember the client only use braille is totally Deaf with ushers. Here, is the message I received. Navigation problems The navigation varied quite a bit each time we tried to explore the screen. it is difficult to know when to “start interacting” and “stop interacting” as there is not much prompting with braille. Navigation from mailboxes to mail list to mail message Could press chord t to use Tab to jump from mail box to message but couldn’t work out how to do shift tab Navigating menus is also tricky using braille. Toolbar problems. Navigation to buttons to reply and forward and delete is difficult. On the Toolbar, the joystick moved to each button and spoke them, however, this was not shown in braille. John tried to delete a mail message but by the time he had found the toolbar and the delete button, the message was no longer highlighted so the button was dimmed (unavailable) Some buttons for reply and forward were not labelled when in an open message. Navigation to Close Button to close a mail message or close mail program takes forever. In the Mail program there might be a way to activate escape as the keystroke to close a mail message as escape is a braille command Seemed to be inconsistencies with when to use Enter or router to open.
