Subject: Re: Sling TV and Cord Cutting Options

You know, you might just want to call your carrier and tell them you’re going
to cut the cord they might drop your price drastically like Verizon did for me.
I have FIOS and at the time had the ultimate package, all the pay channels,
500 megabits up and down internet and the quantum DVR package which included
thousands of hours of storage time. Whole plan cost me about $451 per month.
Like you after a while I thought this was a bit whacky and with my new
televisions and good set top boxes I was going to cut the cord. So, I call
Verizon, tell them the drill and the rep tells me that I really don’t want to
do that and let me see what I can do. She came back about 5 minutes later and
offered me twice the speed so I have full gigabit in both directions, the same
TV package and all the same services and she dropped to $231. So it’s worth a
20 minute call. So many people are doing this they are offering aggressive
retention deals.

Good luck.
