Hello James, iWork09 is accessible, however, the various applications are accessible to different degrees.
Pages is very good with just a few problems. When editing a Word document containing text boxes, Pages puts them at the end of the document which is a nuisance. There may be other problems, but I haven't found them. Keynote is accessible but a bit awkward to use. I'm just getting to grips with it as I have a PowerPoint document to translate. I haven't yet had to use Numbers, but other people say it's accessible. All these applications import from and export to Office formats.
