My first advice would be avoid it if you have an alternative, but it is usable
in Safari with patience. Navigating by various heading levels will help you
get around. As with many sites, overlays can be a problem, but they can
usually be located at the very beginning or very end of a page. The trick is
knowing when you have to look for one. In truth I brave it rarely enough that
I have to figure it out each time I go in, but it can be done. It is much
better than it used to be, and I believe there is still the mobile interface
that’s easier to get around in. That’s at m.facebook.com
<http://m.facebook.com/>. You will or at least I have in the past found that
some of the things you can do in the full interface are not available in the
mobile interface. Since the desktop interface is tolerable for brief
interactions, I stick to it and don’t use the mobile anymore. Whenever
possible I just use my iPhone.
