Hi Janine,

Yeah I had to reset the watch after installing IOS 11 beta on my phone.

Guess that stuffed up the ping function.

Regardless of beta software on the Watch, I’ve had times when the Ping feature
didn’t work. Simply turning off and back on at the phone end, once I found said
phone that is, restored it.

As for how to get the Watch beta for watchOS4, that I haven’t done yet, still
running the betas for watch OS3, 3.2.3 Beta 4 to be exact.

Not sure how productive it will be to run watchOS4 on this original model as
it’s slowing significantly at app opening. I’ll be curious to see if they
introduce a new Watch this fall.

Hi Janine,

Thanks for that,
Yeah I reset my watch lastnight and as I’m not a dev I assume the watch os is
the production os and yes after the reset I can now again ping my phone from my
watch,

And to add to this for those watch owners with apple earPods

Merry xmas I had my watch talking to me automatically through my earPods when
I took them out of the case and put them in my ears they picked up my watch
before they picked up the phone

The watchs VO volume was pretty quiet so I’ll have to play around with it
tonight.

But now the pods connect with out issue to the watch.

Simon, Just tried this using iOS11 beta on my 6S and my original Apple Watch
running watchOS 3.2.3 Dev beta 4 and it works. Before I updated the Watch
though and was using a public version of watchOS, it also worked. I do so wish
they’d make it a complication, yes I use it that much.

Can someone with an apple watch and is using the IOS 11 beta check for me that
the

feature of the watch
isnt’ working currently?

Just wanting to confirm that’ it’s not just me and is an issue with the beta
Note that the watch is running the latest production OS release not a beta.
