Now it’s interesting you should mention about the text not being spoken.  
Whenever I enter my user name in to the user name or user ID fields of the 
sites in to which I have logged on so far with Crome, the text has always 
spoken character by character.  Now, do you mean they are not spoken while 
backspacing?

As for the other issue, can’t verify that yet but I believe you.
