Yes the mission control kdefaults to control left go to prior screen 
control right go to next screen
control 1 goto screen 1 
control 2 goto screen 2 
control 3 goto screen 3
control uparrow goto mission control User interface.

So go into keyboard system settings, switch to the shortcuts tab.

Now select mission control from the first table and uncheck almost all of the 
checkboxes in the second table.

I personally left control-1 and control-2 on. If your only full screen 
application is your VM Fusion VM, then  control-1 should bring you to the 
Macintosh applications and control-2 to the Windows applications.
