I just discovered that all my sent email from when I got my Mac last year was
sitting in the various sent mail folders for my accounts. I should have
foreseen this, but I’m so used to the way I had Outlook working that I didn’t
think about it. Thus the question. I had a rule in Outlook that would grab
the outgoing mail and move it to the inbox. This way I could decide
immediately whether to file it or delete it. It also has the option to keep
replies with the original. I realize I could set the option to copy myself,
but then I’d still have the copy in sent mail. In looking at the rules in Mac
Mail, it is not apparent that rules could be applied to outgoing mail and the
help doesn’t really say. So can they, or is there a better way to do this?
