One thing is Outlook 2016 is integrated with the Skype for business package so you can see if co-workers are currently on-line without going to a separate application. I do prefer the menus in Outlook for Mac over just using the ribbon on my Windows side. At the office though, I tend to read via threading using Apple Mail and general reading / responding using Outlook for Macintosh, unless I am running a corporate copy of Windows in a VM, in which case I still use Outlook for Windows.
My current frustrations with Outlook on Macintosh are as follows: 1. When multiple messages are selected, instead of saying 6 messages or 6 rows selected it will say 36 cells selected. 2. The auto-expand / contraction of threads when reading by thread gets very confusing. This can be disabled in options though. The viewing of contact cards in Outlook for the Macintosh is much better than what happens on the PC side. Observations above are on a corporate Macintosh connected to an Exchange server running Office 2016 on the Macintosh and Outlook 2013 on the Windows side.
